    Which rack are you running?

Security fasteners instead of basic slotted or phillips hardware will help. Just remember a thief can take anything given enough time.

I remember reading about caliraised led offering security type bolts on their website. No experience with them though...

Basically a bolt that has a different type head on it that most people won't have readily available hardware to take the bolt out with.

Yep this, you can also go to Home Depot/Lowes whatever and get security bolts.

Like said above they are weird bolt head patterns that most people don't have screwdrivers to.

I imagine they don't cost $20 at Lowe's or Home Depot for two of them either.

    Thanks for input

I think "thief deterrent" is right. If they want it ,they will have it.

On my old truck I had a roof bar. I used an extended length bolt, then a nut on the other side tight against the LED. Then I threaded on another nut just enough to be flush with the end of the bolt, and put a spot weld where the bolt threads met the nut. This allowed me to loosen the 1st nut for adjustments but complete removal required a grinder or hack saw. Here's the best I could do on a work PC with just Paint lol.

Just remember the thieves shop at the same places we do, if it's easy for you to find/buy do you think they won't have the same "security" bit in their tool bag? People make full time livings ripping off light bars in my area. Shopping malls in broad daylight, 2 guys with electric impact guns and wire snips mean they're gone within 20 seconds. I used to love coming out to see the paint scraped off my nuts/bolts and imagine them fighting trying to break loose a nut that's welded on :frusty:
