It at least lets you know that you got a "real" price. So many on here post these crazy prices. An undervalued trade is involved 99% of the time.

Supposedly financing gives the dealer the best opportunity to make money off of you. In theory that means they will be more likely to discount to the best sales price.

I really think it boils down to a number of factors. Supply and demand is probably the most important. Knowledge is power, so an educated buyer over an impulse buyer is going to get a better deal, usually. And of course it's going to depend upon you. Don't be a dick.

And if all else fails, pick out the hot shot salesman and send in the blonde bombshell with double D's. Works every time. :D

I would bet anything that they were pricing a 2wd, not a 4x4. That price would still be a good deal, but would make sense for a 2wd.

I've heard that interest and financing talk so many times, and the laugh is on them with their truck gets repo'd, or can't afford the payment.

Making a deal cash takes wits, when I do buy cash I don't just go to one dealer and walk out even if they mention financing. I'm a firm believer that one who borrows is subservient to the lender, and keep debt free.

You really have to ask the dealer how much you have to put down?
