Been doing some research on here about headers, Im wanting to get some more HP out of my Taco starting with headers. However everywhere I've looked everyone seems to be running a exhaust package with their headers? Can you not run a stock exhaust with headers? Sorry if this is a noob question.

I'm running the Doug Thorley long tube headers on my 4.0 with factory y-pipe and a Aero Turbine 2525xl. When I put the headers on, my factory muffler rattled like crazy (it wasn't before then).

Go with urd headers around the same price and they are better. I'm running Doug Thornley long tube one my 08. You should be fine on stock system. But might need to get a maf calibrator. Urd has all that good stuff.

I like it through all ranges except WOT. At idle, light acceleration, and cruise, it has a nice tone. At WOT, it sounds like a pissed off weed eater. Eventually I will upgrade the Y-pipe and possibly add an AT resonator.

On my 02 Double cab with a 4 cylinder I'm running a Doug Thorley TRI Y shortie header and I really like the performance gains it has made on.my supercharged 4 cyl
