So basically I took the front air dam off and put trd wheels with ko2s soon as I got the truck. It's the 2.7 2wd. Been getting about 19.4 mpg. Assuming most of it was from the tires I put the front air dam back on last night and drove 101 miles today and got 22.4 mpg. Needless to say it's staying on.

A piece designed to improve fuel economy actually improves fuel economy? Mind = blown.

100 miles is hardly enough to say. 3mpg is very drastic, you are talking 15% increase in mpg...

I'd call that "promising initial results". Update us when you have a few thousand miles on the new setup.

Have you been keeping track of miles & gallons per fill or is this just what the computer says? Use Fuelly and then you can share your data easily.

I get around 17-18 MPG pretty consistently in mine. So you're telling me if I can put an air dam back on my air dam I could get that up to 20?

I'd guess it might be good for 1 MPG max on a stock truck.

3 MPG is a big increase. Like the poster above stated. Run a more controlled DOE to see if you are really gaining that much, run the same route, driving style, fuel type, miles, tire pressures, outside temps, etc.... There are a lot of factors in fuel economy.
Hard to base something on only 100 miles.

Bet you are driving less agressive after reinstalling it. Report back after 1000 miles.

Lots of smart asses. Which is cool. I thought it was pretty drastic as well. I have an sr model so there's no on dash mpg est. I've got 9k on the truck and do mpg on every fill up. It's been around 19-20 mpg on full tanks highway and city. Have only driven 100 miles with the air dam back on and filled it back up and that's what I got. I will run this tank empty and do a cpl full tanks with it on. What do I even have to gain by lieing about it is what I think is funny. Just sharing the info. It's Friday, some of yall must have had a shitty week. It's cool, relax and calm the f down.

Even if it did 3mpg improvement (which majority are not seeing)…it's as ugly as hell, just my own honest opinion. I'm happy with my slick skid plate:)

I think Its hideous and looks much better with it off too. Was really just bored after work yesterday so wanted to try it.
