It's time for 25k service and the dummy light is blinking on the dash at start up. I can't get into the dealershit till next week. Is it ok to pour a little oil from a different manufacturer in to 'top off' until service?

Is the oil level below the min mark on the dipstick?

I doubt your truck is losing any oil, no need to top off unless it's below the low line

Haven't checked yet. I was just sittin at work and thought I better look.

Also, I'd be adding oil of the same weight.

Blinking means that service is due soon. Solid on means it is due.

You should not need to add any oil to your 2015. But for future reference there is nothing wrong with mixing the same weight oil from different manufactures.

Members like you make me laugh. This place should be about helping others, no matter how dumb or obvious the questions may seem to you. Glad I could bring a smile to your face for being such an idiot.

Don't mind the 3rd gen forum regulars, they're so used to all the flaming and general useless mayhem that goes on in their forum that they forget to leave it there when they venture into the other areas of TW.
