What's stopping Canadian owners from "hacking" Entune functionality?

My understanding is the hardware is all there... and I don't think it's VIN based, otherwise they would have to know where you lived... assuming they don't just use port of sale to determine locale.... I thought it came down to not being able to load the App based on you locale. If that's the case, all that's really stopping us is the locale settings in our phone, no?

littlechilds don't you have a US purchased Taco, but live in Canada? Does Entune work for you?

Make a US-based Apple store account, install the etune app, and let us know if it works!

 

I believe you need a US credit card to do that.
