Since he is banned, now, I guess we'll never know. What a loss.
It sure is. I love when people criticize others for something that doesn't fit THEIR needs. Mine are like yours. Improve sound as simply and economically as possible, preserve room in the cab (mine is an even smaller 1st gen Xtra cab), and make the music sound good, not physically uncomfortable while trying to attract attention becaue I wasn't held enough as a child or am so ugly that I can't get people to look my way without LOUD NOISES! :D

I read some of his other posts; I think the thing he may have been missing is someone to punch him in the mouth. ;)

dang, i wish my install was that easy, the under carpet vents prevented me from mounting my SO 8" sub and since behind the seat is taken, i chose to return it.

I have just installed the kicker hideaway and put it behind the back seat. ( With easy modification you can lower your back seat) I hooked everything up correctly I think. I don't know what to do with the blue wire???? Also it does not power on. Can anyone help me troubleshoot. I checked the fuses with a voltage meter and they are good. Why do I not have power

Where does it plug into. The bass control has the auxiliary cable. The blue cord is only 24".

I'm guessing I need to buy wire to connect the hideaway to my stereo. This product is no way a plug and play.

Blue is remote shut off.. it gets the signal from the Head unit to know when to turn on, or off. Otherwise it's pulling power 24/7. That's required.

To the OP, what's the middle console install you speak of? I'd love to try this.

I have a 2011 Off Road with JBL. Is there a crappy sub somewhere? Stock

since a bunch of you have had the hideaway for a while now, can you help me dial in some sub settings? I have a 2008 sr5 and I have no idea what the specs are of the stock speakers. It seems that knowledge is necessary if you are trying to dial in the cross over frequency. 10 watts below or above the lowest the stock speaker can handle is what I have been reading. How do you all have your hideaways dialed?

Thanks OP for this write-up. Got mine installed today and I'm very happy with the sound.

As for the guy above me... wattage has nothing to do w the crossover frequency. You set the sub to pick up where the stock speakers leave off.

So what frequency do the stock speakers leave off then?

I'm not sure. Setting the sub around 80hz should be sufficient if I remember the dial correctly.

Anyone done this in a '16 or '17 Tacoma under the seat or elsewhere in a double cab?
