Love quicksand personally just slightly worried about future resale value since the color is more of an acquired taste. White is a lot safer but also boring at the same time.

Saw a new 17 today. Exactly like my 2016. I am not sure how much but there definitely was a price increase.

I never buy a truck and worry about what the next owner will think about it.

If you're worried about resale then leave it stock also.

Year doesn't matter. What does matter is a long, extended test drive to find a good one off the bat. 17's will have their own unique issues too maybe, so drive many and find "the one."

He's right. There was a post a while ago that had some fairly significant price hikes on the 2017s. One was over 2k I think. I would imagine Chevy/GMC are doing the same hikes.

Its roughly $700 more for the 2017 (you do get the sliding rear glass though). I was going to go 2016 but since the 2017's are rolling out I'm going with the newer version hoping maybe some of the bugs were fixed from the 2016 and I can build it exactly how I want. I did read a thread on here about the color white not being a two stage paint and some had problems with spotting that wouldn't come out in the paint from tire shine spray.

The bugs are not fixed. It still vibrates from 1800 to 2200 rpms and the LCAs are not plugged. Toyota still has not figured out the reason for the rear differential issues.

But you can pay more for a 17 to get those issues in the truck exactly as you want it.

    And a sliding window.

Did Toyota adjust the payload capacity to reflect the weight increase of the sliding rear window? ;)

Hahaha, I got a kick out of that when I found it on my 2014. Big yellow lawyer warning saying the payload is like 12 lbs less because of the optional wheel choice. Guess I gotta stop hitting Dairy Queen to make up for those 12 lbs :)

I don't have these issues love my Taco doesn't matter what year 16 or 17 resale value of taco comes down to mileage .It is nice to say you have a 17 4 months before 2017 but resale is not too effected

From my experience the only 2016s left on local lots are the less desirable configurations imo. A lot of rwd access cabs or double cab short beds. I am looking for a double cab long bed TRD sport v6 auto and couldn't find one within 100 miles. Ended up ordering a 2017 to get exactly what I want without BS port options.
