Didn't know it was out of stock ordered mine yesterday and it shipped already I guess you used the coupon I posted. I have not seen it any cheaper and I searched the Internet. For 75.00 it doesn't pay to try and piece together parts to make your own.

I tried to order one Friday morning and it said they were out of stock.

Question for those that installed the Pop n Lock. Did you use or recommend using wire loom for the cabling that comes with the Pop n Lock kit since the wire will be run under the truck?

They let me order then sent a message that I wouldn't be charged and the item was out of stock!

    Too many to list
Got the install done today... pretty smooth. I took after @Aznray and @adobe18 in finding a solution to not cutting/splicing factory wires. I used a couple male and female pins laying around from my JBL upgrade project. The pins came from the generic Toyota stereo harness for aftermarket stereo installs (Metra 70-1761 and 71-1761). I solder the pins into the Pop & Lock harness. I depinned pins 9 & 10 on the factory plug. Put the Metra male pins into the factory pins 9 and 10 and taped the together so the wouldn't come apart. Put the Metra female pins in the factory plug and taped them cause they were a loose fit. Connected the factory plug and everything works like a champ.

This thread is very helpful on the general install. I think there is a Tacoma specific PDF from Pop & Lock in this thread somewhere (kit had instructions for the Tundra). I pretty much followed the Tacoma instructions and was pretty straight forward. I did heat shrink and tape the wire connections inside the tailgate... a little something extra. If I have sound deadening material left over from the speaker upgrade I might look into adding some to the tailgate but sound isn't any worse than my Ram 3500 with factory power tailgate lock.

Depinned factory plug. Pin 10 is black and pin 9 is blue.

Solder Metra Pins (one female and one male) to Pop & Lock harness.

Final harness ready to plug into factory harness.

Plugging Metra male pin into factory female. Then taped together.

    Final look.

Just finished the Pop-lock install. It went in with no trouble and its only a little louder then the door locks. I like that its louder so I know the tailgate is locked.

Plan to do the Pop n Lock install this weekend. If I wire it in this way at the drivers side kick panel, will the tailgate unlock with the passenger doors or drivers side door?

Depends how you have your automatic lock/unlock set up.

I have mine setup to only open drivers side door with one button push of remote. Two button pushes opens passenger doors.

I have mine tied into passenger side and my locks are set up to unlock all doors when I touch the handle or if I press the unlock button once.

It depends on if you tap into the wires for the drivers door or the passenger door.

So if I go to the passenger side kick panel I can have the tailgate unlock with the passenger doors? Where do I tap in and what color wires? Thanks!

Unhook the white connectors to get them out of the way.

Connect to red and green wire at bottom black connector. Green to green, Blue to red.

I am going to wait and hope someone comes out with a better install package and with its own harness, not having to cut or splice into factory wires.

Understood. I like a super clean install and leaves no excuse to dealer to use to not warranty vehicle.
