In some respects, but some designs are better than others. There are decisions to be made on weld-on vs bolt-on. If you go with bolt-on, are you ok with drilling a ton of holes in your frame to get a full strength slider or do you want to just be able to bolt them on. If you decide on no drilling bolt-on sliders, there are bad designs, ok designs and great designs. All those options come with varying levels of usefulness and prices to match.

Not necessarily. Some dude in the "What have you done to your tacoma 2nd gen" got some DCSB steps that didn't work with his ACLB from the dealer a few days ago.

EDIT: Found the posts in case anyone was curious.

I'll continue to root for the Mobtown sliders. Especially for anyone on the east coast looking for beefy sliders at a good price

I love my @Mobtown Offroad sliders as well. I went with 0 degrees and fill plates so my wife and kid can step on them easily. I also sandblasted them and had them Linex coated. These and my Clazzios are my favorite 2 mods.

    enough to get me there
Design wise there is very little difference i.e. tubular vs square vs hybrid. To me from a design stand point there are pretty much three kinds of sliders - the straight ones, the ones with kick out, or the ones like jeeps that are part of the frame/body. You can argue that some fab shops put a little more thought into their design i.e. extra support points, weld quality (not some 16 yr old from high school metal shop). But, other than that, there isn't much to sliders. Heck, I think most of the fabricators I mentioned have very similar specifications in the steel stock they use.

I don't buy the whole thick wall tubing, square stock, etc. I think the weakest point in most cases would be the attachment points on your vehicle. The C-channel framing of your truck would fold before anything ... no need to buy into the square stock or hybrid slider being stronger. It makes sense that round tubular sliders work better at sliding as they they don't have edges that would catch as easily.

The big difference "Quality" and use of material i.e. cheap import steel, quality import steel. Chances are most sliders out there are using import steel.. unless you are paying like $1000+ for them. In actuality there really is no need to worry about import steel (quality import steel), chances are your truck is made from imported steel, from China possibly. Chances are a lot of the fab shops in your area are probably using the same steel supplier.

If Demello, CBI, Pelfreybilt or Allpro had crappy sliders that buckle or fall apart I am pretty sure you would hear it all over the forums. Chances are they use imported steel, otherwise I would think they would advertise using "American Made Steel" "US Steel" etc. So in the end, if you stick to a reputable vendor you should have a slider that does it's job.

I wish that were the case, ICI, Westin HDX, Iron Cross and Body Armor are all companies that make a double cab drop step only, none for the access cabs.

It hard to get a get picture of the sliders. They blend in against the frame. Here is how strong they are. Didn't move a millimeter. I now have the proper slider adapter for my hi lift

I will, I really like the style and they look to be very rugged. My only concern is mounting them, esp. on the driver side with brake lines and such. I have zero experience messing with stuff like that and don't want to screw up my new truck. Do you provide clear instruction for noobs like me that will take the angst out of mounting them?

Sorry man on the loss of your predator left side...sliders, mobtown, others is your best bet, like I have said before and I will say again they look good, but get in the way without a lift, with a lift they still look good, but they are only good for the little lady to take her mount...4 wheelin your screwed as you have discovered....get the sliders...your choice....best to you bud.
