Nothing really to worry about... They won't bother you unless you bother them.

I know of one hole where you can sit on a rock and put your feet in water that is over your head and its 15 or 20 degrees colder than the rest of the river. It feels sooooo good when it's 100 degrees ...

I'll bring my RTIC and just kick my feet up on that. Let me just say I am terrified of snakes and stinging bugs.

Yellow jackets would be my only worry up there... I almost got stung a lot the other day while working an outage call. I cut a tree off a service line and was dragging it off the line. I dropped the butt of the tree directly on top of a nest in the ground.

Or wait til it cools down. We had a ton of bees and wasps at our campsite on HPR. But they disappeared as soon as a fire was lit. Never thought I would love a fire in late June til I noticed the stingy things disappear.

I was out there(HPR) a couple weeks ago with Shibby, pulled off the trail to pee, a yellow jacket lit my arm up as soon as I got out of the truck, immediately hauled butt home as I'm allergic. That 90 minute drive taught me a lesson, I now carry Epi-pens in my truck and purse.

I'll be up there opening weekend in September. It'll likely be a meet/camping trip. I'll work on organizing that next week.

Imagine falling into a nest in a hole in the ground as a kid. I almost died.

Havent been stung in like 12 years til a couple weekends ago. Plus yellow jackets somehow got into my apartment a month ago. I had to seal the fuck out of my windows. Havent seen them since. They're out to get me again.

What have you done to piss off the yellow jacket community ??

I get stung before anyone else does.. Maybe I've done something to piss them off too.

Yeah. It was like thigh deep. Thank science that Epi-pens existed. Saved my life. Mom wasn't stoked on me running around the woods with my cousin after that. Especially since we got caught with knives and whatnot. Kids and their imaginations...

Nowadays you can't even get kids to go outside. Unless pokemon are involved.

There was a quote on Twitter not too long ago saying Michelle Obama tried to get kids outside for 8 years and Nintendo did it in 24 hours...

I'm glad I got stung before I dropped the shorts. It could've been a lot worse... o_O

    So I need wheels next...

But they're sooo expensive. And I'm a broke ass lineman with a 3 year old... And a wife that doesn't share my infatuation with my truck.

    What am I gonna do????

    Anyone need a kidney?
