Hello TW, you guys are my last chance, so here we go. A few months ago I fried my ECU for inappropriately jump starting a car, so I replaced it, then I had to replace it again because I was having other issues. After replacing it for a second time, the truck started behaving strangely. It would crank and not start. I would have to remove the key, put it back in, crank it, pull it out and crank it again exactly three times. This only happened about 3-4 a week and lately it hadn't been doing this and since the check engine light DID NOT light up at any time I thought everything was okay. Yesterday, i got into my truck to come home from work, It wouldn't start, I tried everything. I got towed back home and thats where my truck is sitting now. I checked the MAF and bought a new one since the old one was dirty, nothing. I had a mechanic come and scan it with an Obd scanner and no codes were pulled. Also, when you turn the key to the on position, the dash doesn't light up like it used to, the gauges are supposed to move but they don't, only the light that says the truck is in Park. The only way the dash sort of lights up is when i crank it, as if the dash isn't getting power in the ON position but only if i crank it. The truck will start for a brief 2-3 seconds and then shut off. If it is of any importance, my truck has an Injen Dry Cold Air Intake and a Viper Security system, thank you for your time and I hope you guys can help.
