Here is the sales so far. Toyota is still outselling the GM twins by a substantial amount. Nissan is still selling a lot of Frontiers.

Two three years tops, those Colorado fans will be trading in for Tacos when the problems keep them going to the stealership, then you'll see a another big jump on Tacos.

As for the frontiers, how can anyone buy such an ugly & under performing rig? But it is a reliable paved highway vehicle, so maybe that's the reason it still exist today!

    Cheers!

They are buying Frontiers cause you can get a pro-4x with leather for 31k. Its a lot of value.

Yes, that is very true, its also what made me consider it a couple years ago, but I don't like it for off-road or high water fording, the alternator's in the lowest part of engine for my taste.

    Cheers!

In my region the access cab doesn't even start at 31k.

I built a double cab on their website. To get leather I had to add the luxury package which was an extra $2,100. Total msrp was $36,300.

Go to dealer websites. One of my local dealers, Jim Glover Nissan, had a new pro-4x 4door with leather for 31k, zero haggle pricing.

When I was test driving trucks, the Frontier was substantially peppier than the Tacoma accelerating on the highway but I disliked everything else about it. Every time I get in the Taco it just makes me happy.

Normally Toyota's are almost rare in my neck of the woods, but I'm seeing 3rd gen Taco's EVERYWHERE now.

Tacoma sales are still strong but Toyota is losing substantial market share. The trend suggests new mid-size offerings are luring the hibernating mid-size buyers out of their caves. That being said, Toyota could very lose the title to GM in the not too distant future. My question is, who cares? So many people on this forum get bent out of shape if you suggest Toyota is losing market share in this segment. If you like your truck, great. Don't have to defend its honor.

This is a more detailed chart from pickuptrucks.com. As you can see, Toyota was selling more units per month a year ago with the gen 2 2015 model. GM is cranking out Canyons/Colorados now. I would normally joke about GM quality but the gen 3 rollout hasn't exactly been smooth.

I'm not sure I'd call 81,000 vs 111,000 a substantial amount and look at the Frontier's growth in sales. I think the Colorado/Canyon's success surprised GM because they haven't been able to supply the demand but that should start changing later this Fall when the factory goes exclusively to building them.

Yeah not.... I test drove one before we bought the Taco... what a POS dealer... tried to up-sale it to me for 40K out the door! Sales mgr was "teaching" the kid how NOT to sell trucks.

I said "8K over MSRP??... I believe you but I'm the kind of guy that likes to trust AND verify, have a nice day" out the door we went and on over to the Taco dealer... test drive SOLD.

The Nissan has a nice interior I'll give them that.

If I needed fleet trucks I would definitely go the Frontier route. My buddy is a Nissan salesman and he says fleet orders are strong for Frontiers.
