Damn I love these threads! OP buys a $40K truck and details the suckie parts already. Then the thread morphs into something about a dogs anal gland and a bunghole. Where else can you get this sort of entertainment?

If its one thing I have learned from buying cars over the years, if you don't buy something you are completely happy with you will be getting rid of it. I would never have bought a new Tacoma if I had the complaints you do about it. Either you are completely satisfied or move onto something else. I did that when I bought a Challenger SRT8 in 2009 when I really wanted a Corvette but couldn't find the 6 speed I wanted with the specific options. 3.5 years later I was in a 2013 Corvette 6 speed before the new C7s came out. I would still have that Corvette if not for a lifestyle change from suburban to back to my rural roots.

Ok. just ordered cover king neoprene seat covers. on sale at costco for 279 USD for a full set.

my weather tech mats should arrive on thursday

and i got a canopy from canopy west in surrey BC. Went with arrow - it's made in summerland bc. it was just under $2k CAD all in. will add a roof rack before ski season.

i've been driving for almost a week. as long as i keep my foot out of it - the tranny isn't too bad. and i've been getting a little under 20mph in mixed city/highway driving. much better than my honda pilot.

speaking of honda - the new ridgeline looks a lot better than i had anticipated. just saw one for the first time yesterday. not a 'real' truck but nicer than i thought it would be.
