Im getting those 2 codes intermittently since installing jba long tubes, and the urd o2 sim.

I don't have any exhaust leaks. I've checked a couple times.

Yesterday i did tighten up the flange from the y pipe to the header right b4 the sensor that is causing the code and the light went out. I thought i fixed it. I drove to school this morning without the light being on, but when i started it back up to go get lunch the light was back on. I cleared it at school with my scan gauge and it was off when i went home a few hours later.

Is it just coincidence that i replaced the headers and the o2 sensor has gone bad?

Could it be something to do with the urd o2 sim?

Any suggestions as to what i should check would be appreciated.

So i disconnected the urd o2 simulator on the side that was causing the code. I just plugged it back in normally without the o2 simulator. I have driven on it twice since unplugging the simulator and I am not getting any codes. I am very surprised that i haven't gotten a catalyst efficiency code yet.

Does it take time for a code like that to be set?

With the o2 sim disconnected i got a p0420 catalyst code (to be expected). I did not get the p0158 code. But i did get p0158 immediately once i reconnected the o2 sim. Its looking to me like there is something wrong with my o2 sim.

Anyone else have any problems with theirs?

... does sound like its the simulator. im running DTLT headers, prob the same piggy back harness, got it from URD, no problems at all. did any of the wiring touch the exhaust possibly burned?? or it could just be a bad signal box in the harness. IDK, call'em up, see wat they can do.

Ok, so it is not the o2 sim causing the problem.

I switched the connectors left <-> right and am still getting the same p0158 code.

I did have to replace one of my 02 sensors when i installed the headers. And it just so happens to be upstream of the one causing the problem. Is it possible that this is the cause? I am going to try to fix the threads on the ones i replaced and see if the code goes away. If not I may just end up replacing all of the o2 sensors(except the already new one). Why not i guess

    Update.

I was able to fix the threads on the o2 sensor i replaced, and it is now reinstalled.

The urd o2 sim is plugged in the opposite way as to when i was getting the code p0158 ( bank 2 o2 sensor passenger side). And i now am running all original o2 sensors.

I went a almost a week without getting any codes. Today i get in my truck to go to school and it throws a code for p0138. ( bank 2 o2 sensor driver side)

So im back to thinking it is the o2 sim causing the code. I am going to switch the o2 sim around 1 more time just to be certain.

I feel like i was too quick to send them an email about my problem before, and I already sent them an email when i was at the point of thinking it wasn't the o2 simulators fault. So maybe I'm sol now if it is a defective o2 sim.

I am having this same problem. Did you have to replace the O2 sim?

Sorry i can't really help either of you who are getting these codes. Everything i did is in this thread, and the problem just went away. It sounds crazy, but its been a few months now and It hasn't thrown a code since.

I'm getting 158 code as well, I.was thinking it was my o2 sim since when I got my o2 sim ok never.had any codes until last week, unplugged battery replaced exhaust gaskets cleaned off o2 sensors put it back together sms everything has been good, but I still get 420 &158 on my torque app, but no check engine light. I'm confused :(
