ok, I give up....I'm going to need some help getting the electrical going for these Hella lights. Never messed with anything electrical on my truck before and these instructions that are included are definitely meant to be understood by someone with at least a modicum of knowledge on the subject. I plead ignorance...

@SlipperyTaco @Mike likes Tacos @Thesandaddict any of you guys in my neighborhood be able to help me out with this? Unfortunately I'm busy tomorrow night so Thursday night would be my last chance to try and get this done before Pismo (I could do Friday night as well since I'm not leaving until Saturday morning). I will supply beer for the job

I did the easy part and mounted the lights to my roof rack lol, so at least that much is already done :notsure:

Lemme know when you're home Thursday. Should be able to figure it out. Can't be harder than my rigids. Might have to run to Hesperia to grab a toy but if you're home after 7 it should work out

That'd be great thanks man, anytime after 7 on Thursday works for me. It's just 2 Hella halogen lights. The instructions make it look like they're telling me to wire them to work in conjunction with my headlights but I don't think that's necessarily how it needs to be done  It has a relay switch for turning them on/off, I figure I should be able to run them independently without being connected to the headlamps. I'm a total noob at the lighting game :pout:

I'll text you on Thursday thanks again!

Yea you're pretty much on target. Tap into a hot wire or straight to the battery and a fuse, ground them, and the third wire is a switch (relay). At least that's how my LEDs work

Did they give you a wire harness? Is this wire diagram better than what you have? Do you already know how you want to get wire from lights to under the hood? To get wire from hood to cab you can penetrate at a rubber seal above your clutch. Can also be seen from under hood. Looks like a black grommet. Just stuff a coat hanger thru itimage.jpg

Thanks Mike! That's a little easier to understand, it's making more sense now.

Despite the fact that they aren't yet working, they still look good :D

    20160816_190637.jpg

Also I think I can avoid drilling another hole for the wires, instead I can run them along the inside of the rubber seal in the door to a hole that leads to the engine bay...

...at least I think that'll work. I'll give it a shot on Thursday with @Thesandaddict 's help and should be rockin' a better lighting game come Pismo :fingerscrossed:
