Just got a new Tacoma. I'm not sure what to do first to it. I wheel often. Let me know what you guys think is the best mod first

Thanks man! I would love to fit 35s on it. I'm thinking of getting the method nv's and some toyo open country's. I'm not sure what lift I need to fit 35s!?

I'm going through reverse what your doing lol, I have 4" lift with 33-12.5 and I am having issues with my caster and possible cv wear ... Everyone here will tell you not to go above 3" suspension lift (above that, you will start wearing parts out quick!), next question for you is budget??? Lol
... 3" lift will fit 35's ... Trim away my friend lol

Congrats on the new truck. If you wheel, but you're sitting on stock shocks and leafs, I would upgrade them to give you a lift, then maybe new tires?

Not sure what you personally consider "sit a bit higher". A lot of members who off road a lot seem to go with 2.5-3" lifts in both the front and back. However if you're thinking of going to 35" tires, you should look into a 4-6" lift where you cut your cross members.

On a slightly different note, props for getting a Taco with a 6 speed. I would recommend installing a TRD quickshifter. While it doesn't turn the stick/linkage into a Honda S2000, to me it's worth the $ and effort.

I have a 6 speed to, not impressed with the stick flopping around either, urd kit looks like a good option. I'm going through the same deal you are Camerond05, just getting my lights and small things done before the big jump to lift and tire package. I think 10trdtaco's truck is perfect.
