Just purchased a 2009 Tacoma Prerunner. It'd black, has a super clean interior, and runs like a dream. I really love it, but recently I'm finding that the front passenger side floor board is almost always wet. I've read some threads on here explains that this is caused by a defective windshield cowl, or the ac condensor, but I've checked both of those and I still can't find this mysterious source of water. This weekend I removed both front seats, the entire center console and the glove box. I pulled all the carpet up to the back seato, to see what part of the carpet was wet. The only part that is wet is the carpet and padding directly below where the passenger's feet would go. This makes me thinknow that it can't be the cowl, or the AC condensor tube from the fire wall because the inclined part of the floor board is completely dry. So is the air cabin filter. I also checked the floor grommets (the rubber floor plugs) and while they were dirty and wet on the underside, they were completely dry on top. I took them all out and cleaned them anyway, thinking that maybe driving through all this rain we've had in Houston recently could have forced water through these holes. But it hasn't rained the past two days, and I've been careful not to drive through water. But low and behold, I woke up this morning, got in my truck, and noticed a musty smell. I reached over, lifted the floor mat, and it was wet on the underside. Little water droplets forming on the carpet too. This is so frustrating. I actually bought this truck because my car was flooded in April's heavy showers, thinking this would be a way to stay dry. But water is pooling on the floor and I have no idea why. Can anyone help me figure this out? Thanks for reading.

In my experience the tube that empties the condensation from the a/c was clogged. disconnect and run something through it to clear any debris.

    hope that's all it is.

I have seen this several times when the passenger side windshield leaks. To test this grab some foaming window spray cleaner in the can and spray along the inside windshield. Then take an air compressor and go around the outer edge of the windshield and see if you notice any foam spray being affected by the compressed air.

Modded it so much it turned into a 4Runner
Had the same issue with mine brand new from the factory. Check underneath the truck above the frame on the bottom of the cab for any missing rubber plugs.

Sorry you're having trouble OP. I believe there's a TSB out there somewhere that might help you. I have a leak somewhere under the driver side. Definitely frustrating and worrisome.

Do they not have a fix for this, I mean come on seen this same thing written about on 2008 posts. My son has a new 15 Tacoma only has 1500 miles and it leaks on passenger side floor. that's really sad. they've tried 4 times now to fix no luck. dealer keeps saying bring back and we'll try again. isn't there a lemon law for this type of problem. I know I would never by a Toyota if this is normal.
