    Hello all,
first post here. Long time Taco fan. Purchased my/our first one for my wife a couple weeks ago (specs in my signature). Only had 160,xxx miles on it. Hoping to run it for a long time. Put much love into it so far (power washed like crazy, changed rear dif fluid, trans fluid, shocks and front psudostruts, new air filter, cleaned MAF sensor and throttle body, installed a Tach repaired windshield washer dispenser, ran several tanks with premium fuel and injector cleaner. To do: new belts, put in MT-90 trans fluid, install vinyl flooring, touch up surface rust spots, add some under-body rust proof coating)

To preface, I have searched all over google including this forum for a good answer to this specific question and have found no answer but a dead end on another forum: toyotanation.com/forum/79-1st-generation-1995-5-2004/871018-factory-alarm-issues-97-tacoma.html

The security system drives us nuts. Once a door is opened, unless the key is placed in the ignition within ~10 seconds, the horn will start honking in pulses. It may then be disabled by turning the key in the ignition forward and back twice. This occurs frequently, all over the place, gas stations, trade shows, at night in the neighborhood. It is very bothersome and problematic.

Is there a way to disable it????????????????????????

I know in some vehicles this can be disabled by a combination of actions to the interfaced electronics( turn key forward, press unlock button, wink 3 times, press the e-brake half way then bam)
    BUT
This Taco has no power anything. Hand crank windows, manual locks, manual mirrors.....
    ALSO
to further complicate matters, it has an aftermarket radio. I would buy or borrow an OEM radio if it was necessary to disable the alarm.

    Please Help
