Swapping air cleaner hoses with Hilux/Fortuner ones?

    So I was reading somewhere that the newer Hilux and Fortuner had a different kind of intake hose. Same engine, same filter housing, same mass airflow sensor, but just different intake hose. The more I looked at it, the more I wonder why it didn't get implemented in US market 4.0L V6's. It has some interesting designs in it like a rubber discharge valve, cyclone tube, water exit hole and air intake resonator. Wonder if my local dealer can get the parts so I can do a review.
