I have been shopping and researching a lot about suspension lifts for my new taco. I am looking to put a 3 to 4" lift on my truck so that I can run some 20" wheels and off-road tires. I do not want to go cheap on the lift but also am not an avid off-roader. I guess I'm looking for some words of wisdom from you all in finding a good middle of the road lift that will allow me to go off-road without having to worry about damage but also not break the bank. Any help is much appreciated

Welcome to Tacomaworld. Unfortunately a lot of the following comments will be about 20inch wheels and combining them with off-roading more so then actually lifting your vehicle.

Don't take the negative comments to personal.

Figure out your actual budget first.

But seeing as you said you're not going to offroad everyday. Old man emu kit or bilstien 5100's are probably what you'll end up with. 2-3 inch lift.

Drop brackets 4-6 inch lifts sound cool, but cutting parts off your frame for looks ain't the best.

Enjoy your ride, it's yours not the forums. Lol

3" lift can be all suspension. 4"+ and you'll need a drop bracket.
Icon stage 1 with UCAs would be a great 3" lift. Bilstein/OME kit are a bit more budget friendly 3" lifts.
As for the 20" wheels, such a thin sidewall won't fair well offroad and run a greater risk of scratching your rims. If you want to go bigger on the rims a happy median would be 18" but it's your truck.
Do more reading + research and decide your budget. There are tons of reviews of every option on here.
