It looks like you mounted an extra threaded bolt to secure the TREDS as the rear - is that correct? Does the mount and mounting generally feel solid?

I've been trying to decide how to mount mine, and am not entirely happy with the single mount they sold - the mount itself is solid, but for roof rack mount I would have preferred 2.

    Thanks,

    Henrik

Yeah I threw in another carriage bolt to make it more stable. So far the damn thing hasn't moved. I knew that if we just used the given mount itd slide a bit on the rear

Thanks Josh - that's what I was thinking too. I might try to make a mount that slips through the elongated holes at the ends of the TREDS that would allow me to run either a cross bar or a thick bungee to keep things in place. And as I'm typing this I realize I need to check if the eye bolts on my Prinsu rack might do exactly that for me.

Nope, no dice. The eye bolts are just a fraction too big - and probably not long enough for both TREDS anyway.

Yeah still up there. I'd wait for the reviews vs Maxtrax before pulling the trigger. Winter-ish maybe, see how much improved they are.

Just to add real world test findings.

We used a set of four on a few recoveries in the snow yesterday. Ended up cracking off an inch or two of the end of one of the four, but other than that they worked great.

I had a similar thing happen when i used my maxtrax last year, they sent a replacement. So we'll see what the warranty does with the treds. They are @3378jakesr5 s treds..

as soon as they're out of stock. That vendor only set some aside for the GB, I think there are like 4 four sets of green left.

Green doesn't go well with my Speedway Blue truck.
Get me the Gray and I'm in. I'll even get a ARB fridge in your other GB if you can get me the Gray Treds.
