I've got a 4 door 3rd gen. I need to install extra i-hooks to tie down 2 sport bikes in the back. I want to drill into the bed, pretty much in the center front. Worried I might drill through something.

You need a backing plate for any hooks in the plastic bed for sufficient strength.

There's a drain hole dead center towards the bulkhead.
Use it as a reference when checking underneath.
Also, I've found unibits leave a cleaner hole.

I drilled holes into mine Sunday. Biggest thing is making sure to get between the gussets under neath. I wouldn't go forward of the wheel wells because that's where the EVAP stuff is.

I just purchased two d rings to put in the back (by the cab) section of the bed like the two already installed by the tail gate. I feel like my second gen had 4 but I guess this is just a short bed thing. If I get them installed I'll try to come back and post pics
