I put a set of Nitto Ridge Grappler (265/70 R17) tire on my 2016 Taco this morning. The fit is damn near perfect! No rubbing or clearance issues at all with the stock suspension and wheels, but I think that I may still get the ToyTec 2" coilover lift anyway. I am also going to eventually get a set of the matte black TRD 6 spoke "SEMA" wheels. Aftermarket wheels are so damn ugly these days so I think that the TRD's would really look good on there! Plus they are Toyota!

I'll get better pics, but these will do for now:

So far, the tires have excellent road manners! Other than being a little more stiff, I didn't really notice and difference over the stock tires. And they are QUIET! Not even the slightest hmmm on the road at any speed - I couldn't believe how quiet they were! The real test starts next week though... I'm going on vacation in OBX North Carolina and getting to the house we rented involves a 9 mile drive up the beach, through some dunes and likely some mud so I should have a really good performance test right off the bat! I think Nitto has a good product on their hands here!

Nice! I regret that I didn't get something more aggressive, I just bought coopers A/T.

Let me know how they hold up, I have the Nitto TG G2s and have been pretty pleased with them at 8k miles but might consider something a little more aggressive in the future. They've been really good on sand, dirt and pavement so far, just waiting to see how they are on the snow.

Saw a commercial for these during a Rangers game the other day. I'm already sold on them. Best looking new tire on the market.

Most nittos have different sidewalls on each side, the picture I posted is the same tire as op but with the rectangular sidewall out.

I opted for the opposite sidewall pattern - just felt like they matched the cut of the truck's body styling better.

Definitely go with the Nittos! The magazines are referring to the Ridge Grapplers as the "KO2 Killers." The Nittos also have different sidewall patterns on each side. Instead of the typical black vs white lettering, you get to choose between two different sidewall designs.

    UPDATE SINCE MY LAST POST:

Since I went with the 265/70R17 (31.65x10.71) variety on factory Toyota wheels (17x7.5 with 30mm offset / 5.43 backspacing) I was able to bump up a size from the stock Firestone Destination LE2 tires (what I call minivan tires) in the 265/65R17 (30.55x10.43) variety without any complications. The Ridge Grapplers are slightly wider and a little over an inch larger in diameter, but I had ZERO clearance issues. No frame/body mount rubbing when fully turned in either direction, adequate clearance of suspension, braking and steering equipment and no lift, wheel spacers or modifications were necessary. I also found that added tire size also made my speedometer readings MORE accurate since before I had the tires installed my speedometer would read faster than my actual speed - the new tires actually put my speed readings spot on so I have no worries regarding inaccuracies typically caused by larger tires (this is specifically for my case with a 2016 Tacoma and this particular tire/size - not all makes, models and tires will have similar results).

The tread design is perhaps the most aggressive looking A/T tire on the market. Nitto's goal was to produce an all terrain tire with excellent road mannerisms while incorporating designs and capabilities of a mud terrain tire for the daily driver than tends to find him/herself wondering off road from time to time. Personally, I think Nitto nailed it with this design! I couldn't believe how incredibly quiet these tires are on the road! I figured that I would have some sort of hmmmm or vibration given their design, but I didn't notice any difference over the road noise of the stock tires. They grip the road very well wet and dry, they don't cake up in the mud and they are INCREDIBLE in the sand! I recently took a trip down to the Outer Banks, North Carolina and we stayed in the North Swan Beach 4x4 Community. To get to our rental home, it took a 7 mile drive down the beach. Sometimes the sand was wet and packed, sometimes it was very dry and loose and sometimes it was somewhere in between. It didn't matter - the Ridge Grapplers grabbed the sand and plowed through. I never even needed to air down - I was running the 45 psi that I typically run on the road while other trucks (including locals) were airing down to 20 psi and some still getting stuck! The tires would even bite the sand well enough to pull the truck up and out of deep ruts left by other trucks. The Nittos on my truck outperformed my friend's Jeep with KO2's and my other friend's F150 with Wrangler A/T's - both of which got stuck a couple of times. Performance in the sand was absolutely unbelievable!

    Here are some pictures...

Loaded up for vacation. Even with about 700 lbs of cargo two adults, two kids and a dog the truck and tire combo performance great in the sand as well as the 450+ miles of highway driving to and from OBX:

Driving in loose sand - the Tacoma in front of me was holding me up with his aired down stock tires. I later talked to him and he said that his TRD Offroad was struggling with the sand even with crawl control. So it's not just the vehicle, but vehicle's tires that make the difference!

Like I said, the Magazine reviews are calling the Ridge Grapplers "KO2 Killers" and I believe it! So far, they are the best A/T that I have ever owned! Get some, you won't be disappointed!

Great looking tire. Are they still quiet? Do you still like them? How was the hit on MPG?

Okay ... I apologize if this question has been answered all over the forum but I love Nittos and have a 2017 TRDPro coming ... Would like to gain tire size without rubbing or clearance issues ... So with TRDPro small rim size of 16" and suspension difference will I be able to fit Ridge Grapplers LT285/70R16 E 125/122P

I love these photos. Such a great look, especially on those 17s. Interesting however that Nitto's truck fit tool doesn't consider this a fit for the Sport.

Don't think they offer the Ridge Grappler in a 16" yet unfortunately.

Agreed. I want to pull the stock Goodyears off and put them on my Xterra, which is in desperate need of some new shoes, and put these Nittos on the Tacoma. Debating on whether to try and wait it out or go ahead and buy new tires for the Xterra.

So as op asked, would these tires fit on TRD Sport 4x2? Pardon me but I'm still new to the truck game lol!
