So I finally got around to showing my stereo. This unit really hits hard and the sound quality is outstanding.
First was to replace the HU. I went with the Pioneer AVH P3200 BT. I have the steering wheel controls as well. This unit works very well with my cell phone, hands free is the best. It stores directory in the unit so it comes up fast. I wired a bypass relay so I can watch BREAKING BAD while driving,....jk

Next was to get some speakers to upgrade from factory. I went with the Infinity Kappa series 6.5" up front and 6" in back. Infinity Reference tweeters up front.

After that I bought a sub box from Subthump. I got rid of that useless POS sub that was installed from Toyota. This box has .96 cf of space and is a down fired system. Seems to fit well and not to invasive. You can get one for about $135.00 online. I used a Kicker 10" sub inside.

Lastly I went with an Infinity Kappa Five channel amp. Really a good amp for the price and it is small enough to mount in a spot that is out of harms way. Here it will be accessible and get proper air flow for cooling while also being hidden from criminals.

This system is the end of it for me. I cannot imaging better sound quality from anything in my truck without breaking the budget. All total was about $3000.00 after parts and installation. But let me tell you, this system hits very hard and the sound is crisp and clean.

That looks nice and clean. I recently swapped rides and am getting my new (to me) taco all geared up. In my last ride I used a lot of sound deadening material to know down a lot of road noise and general noise from driving. I was contemplating doing the same for my Taco. I cannot wait just to install the aftermarket head and see if that makes as huge a diff as people are saying because the stock stereo is pure jank.

Did you use any sound deadening material in your setup? This is a long shot: Have you heard a sim car with sound deadening and a sim setup to know what the difference is in a Tacoma?
