I'm kinda partial to the hybrid campers. Big time room in a smaller price range and lighter package. As long as it doesn't have any sliders(not bunks) that is. Some killer deals can be found on CL if you shop around and have cash in hand.

I have a 20 year old half rotten pop up.... We use it a couple times a year. My next move is a 20ish foot hybrid. The hard part is the pop up works great and owes me absolutely nothing at all.

    Slither,
I'm going to look into the Lance. I started out looking at the mini lites and Jay feather 7 campers. Then started this thread and have gotten nervous about them.

We're leaning towards the Lance because its a 4-season camper with enclosed underbelly. The Rockwood's tanks are exposed. I really like the murphy bed option in the Rockwoods though. Decisions, decisions...

I am really digging the Jayco line of campers. There is a big camper show in January that I'm going to go to. Then I will have a better idea of what I can pull or if I need to get a bigger truck.

I have towed my Jayco 17 hybrid three times now and have been happy. It isn't a full size truck but does the job just fine for me. You know it is back there but I have been able to maintain speed on the freeway.

Do you find that trailer big enough for your needs?

I do. It has a queen bed up front and a full in the back. Table seats 4 comfortably and could do six if needed. The table also folds to a full bed. Bathroom is big enough with the shower being spacious as it has a small tub. I was very picky with weight and this one fell with in the range I was willing to tow. A good friend has the 22' version. Same year and all. I will say his is much bigger as it has a small slide which adds a couch and more storage. That comes at a price with added weight. His is 4k dry. We bought this planning on having 1 or 2 kids. We bought it from a family of 6 and their only complaint was not enough storage for all of their suit cases.

Which Lance trailers are 4 seasons? All of them?

There are few true 4 season travel trailers despite claims. The travel trailers I see in use during late season here in Montana are Arctic Fox or Creekside, and even then it's kinda a stretch. Oliver and Escape trailers are pretty tough. Expensive but tough.

My old truck camper by Hallmark was great during cold season. This was during elk season- big storm brewed in and sent temps plummeting from 70degrees on Thursday to -10 on Saturday.

Everything is enclosed in heated area. The main problem with true cold weather camping is the diminished performance of propane. At neg 10F usable btu's is pretty crummy on a 30lb tank..

I guess my thing is can I tow 3500 to 4500 lbs comfortably at 60 mph or less. I am not trying to set a land sowed record of anything. I think some of these people think they should be able to pull 4500 lbs and an not fill the weight.

2016 TRD Sport double cab, i'm towing a 2006 Kodiak 26QS, dry weight 4200 LBS without a problem, tow like a charm, you just need a brake controller and a weight distribution hitch.
