Any one running these on a 3rd gen? Pics? Is the E load really that harsh? I want new tires. I have looked at everything. BFG A/T's have always been my favorite but have always been on half ton or larger trucks. Just trying to decide if I want to put them on my Tacoma or not. Thanks for the help.

Would like to see a pic of these as well. The E rating is overkill for me but love the narrow tire.

I know that overall the E rating is overkill for a Tacoma but all BFG sizes that fit 16in rim on stock suspension are E load. I just can't seem to find anything else that I really like. Wildpeaks A/T3's are nice but no white letter option. I want white letters out. I'm really trying to avoid buying new rims also.

seems between tirerack and Discounttire every tire in that size is an E load. So you might be stuck with it.
the BFG are priced not to bad and are 48lb. thats only 1.5lb heavier then my 265/70/17 Falken Wildpeaks at3w i got yesterday. now as far as how much harsher the ride would be with them I dont know

I emailed Falken yesterday to ask if I could special order white letter tires or if they have plans for production of OWL in the future but have not received a response yet.

    None...yet!
The AT's have been my go to tire for years. But I'm going to get them from Costco and in the 265/70/16 stock size. Have to order them, not sure about the load range on those... I'll see how long I can put up with the Goodyears... If they suck in the snow, I'm switching them over. I think the AT's are snowflake rated in the stock Tacoma size, so that's a plus.

They only come in E, I checked. I really want them too, but not really in an E load. Anyone running stock 16" size have info on ride quality and MPG effects?

E is the way to go. I can't stand driving a truck on P car tires. Like a wallowy feeling boat

This would also be nice to know. I'm considering stock size also.

If they only come in E, then don't worry about it. I had them on my 2003 and the ride was fine. The thing about the Toyota's is they are so much lighter than what those tires normally go on, you can really dial down the pressure. But of course your government mandated TPMS system will bitch at you.

I've run E rated tires on my trucks for a long time. I have a set of ST/Maxx tires on my winter/hunting set of tires for the Tacoma and it rides 'normal' to me. The stock tires feel like marshmallows.

There's also another size, that's almost the same height, but wider that comes in a D load. It's not 265/75, because that's an E load as well. Between the difference in weight which was like 6 or 8 lbs total for all 4, I'd rather stick with stock size cause this motor ain't no torque monster. I've even looked at getting FX Pro 17" rims so I can get a 265/70 17" in a C load, but that's another $750 bucks for rims on top of tires.

    Agreed.

People seem to think they need to put 40+ psi in e tires. Stick with 30-35 and you'll be fine

Only A/T KO's I can find in a d load are the original AT's in stock size, there are some left out there but they are hardly cheaper than buying the KO2's.

Ya, so I just realized you are talking A/T. I was referencing the KO2's, my bad. :anonymous:

Today just bought 4 Duratracs 265/75R16's In C 45Lbs apiece. Could have had the Duratrac E's for same price but didn't want the extra weight at 51 lbs. KO2s the same size available only in E tip the scales at 53 lbs. 8 more lbs to get up to speed and keep rolling on my undertorqued truck.;) Willing to take the chance on softer sidewalls of the C rated Dura's in exchange for the softer ride and better gas milage I will obtain with the lighter tire. In my eyes bonus being they look better mounted on my truck than the KO's. I will turn up my stereo to drown out the slightly louder road noise of the Dura's. ;) But then at my age my hearing is shot anyways:D
