    New to forum.

Got a 95 Tacoma v6, 190K miles. A/C is acting up. On low speed, it runs fine. On medium and high speed, the a/c goes out. I also hear a ticking noise near the glove compartment when the a/c goes out. The a/c will come back on in low speed if you turn the truck off and back on again. Any suggestions or info is greatly appreciated. Thc

When you say low, medium and high speed, are you talking about the blower motor or the engine speed? The electronics of the AC system (AC amplifier) is behind the glove compartment, so this could be the ticking sound you hear. That doesn't mean the amplifier is necessarily the root cause of the AC shutting off.

I am talking about the blower speed. Just need some advice if there is anything that I could do myself to analyze the problem ( and I'm not mechanically inclined). Thx

Well, here's the update. I bought and installed the blower motor resistor today. The a/c worked like a charm in low, medium and high speed with no ticking noise either. Then, immediately , the a/c quit working in all blower speeds!!! Any ideas at this time? Mayday!!!!! Thanks in advance!!

Sounds like a fuse blew (circuit breaker). I don't know where they are located. Sometimes Toyota puts them up on the right kick panel by the blower motor, or they could be in one of the other fuse boxes on the left kick panel or under the hood.
