Hey guys how long did your factory struts last? My 15 has 40,000 miles on them and tires are starting to cup on the outside. Is this about right?

    .
Which struts do you have? Stock bilstiens have seemed to last longer then the cheaper tokico struts that come with standard sr5 models. However if you are looking for a cost effective replacement i suggest bilstien 5100s. They will be a improvement of your stock struts and will give you the option to level using stock springs if you choose. But if u dont want level you can run them at stock settings.

Have you had an alignment done? Many people confuse feathering and cupping... Could just be an alignment issue...

So you didn't have it aligned after lift was installed? If not, you should have the alignment checked and tires rotated...

No. The lift went on around 500 miles. The next day I had alignment and tires. I have not had any front end work since. Plus I rotate every 5,000.

The way I test shocks is if I press down on the hood or front bumper, the truck should come up, bounce once, and then settle in place. If the front end bounces two or three times than your strut is worn.

If your tires are wearing wrong, you need an alignment.
