Tire Shop Said not to get 265 75 16

I just lifted my truck 2.5 in the front and left the rear stock and when i went to get some tires today they guy was telling me that getting 265 75 16 is a bad move and that it will make the tire way narrow. i want a bigger tire for my truck without having to worry about trimming because of rubbing. so is this the move i want and does any one have any past experience with this or pictures? please help i am getting this tomorrow thanks guys

You'll be fine with that size tire. It is what I use. I put that on my taco before I got the rear TSB with no issues. The front doesn't rub. Not sure what that guy at the shop was smoking.

 

These are 265's so you can see how wide they are. With 285's you will have to trim a bit.

 

i dont really mind the width i just want a little bigger tire to fill up the well

 

Then go bigger and trim.

 

but i also dont want to do any trimming at all as far as i saw the 26 75 16 do look better on a lifted truck than the 70's

 

You can check my pics to see what the 265s look like. I'm quite happy with them and they way they look

 

That is what I would go with then if you do not want to trim.

ya i am going with dunlop radial rover AT i am doing alot of road driving so i figured this is a good tire and it should hold up well
