lol, I only got the body because Angelo over in pensacola didn't have time to remove the body before I got there. So when I called him to let him know I was close, he let me know what was up and he threw the body in for an extra $100. So I took it as well lol, I only originally wanted the frame. But I ended up only paying $62 for the whole thing lol.

No idea what I'm gonna do with it though....I'm gonna snag the windshield and column switch from it and probably sell it or put it in storage or something. It has no title, so I decided I'm just gonna continue fixing my 80 cab and throw it on that new frame that's in way better shape

    Hell yeah :p

    UPDATE

Hey guys, been a hot minute since I posted in here lol. But I wanted to share some progress, if that's what you can call it...on the pickup lol

First things first I got the new 81 frame ground down and painted and I tossed the old 80 frame, got the 2nd cab torn apart and took all of what I needed and brought it to a buddy just recently to get it off my hands since it was taking up so much space. Took the windshield off the 80 cab and found more rust to add to the list of things to fix haha.

Other than that, I bought another gas tank, new set of headlight doors, and headlight buckets and a new grille are on order currently. Also picked up my 3rz from my buddy too! Awesome motor, Probably forgetting something I've done....but that's most I guess lol

Still debating on what color I should paint the truck. But I can't really progress any further until I get my tacoma paid off. Once that's done, that'll free up $350 a month. I also need to find myself another 1st gen bed to throw on the back

not much honestly lol, ive been kinda MIA in here since ive been getting my Tacoma paid off. Got the truck paid off the 14th of December and this next paycheck ill FINALLY be able to start buying parts again haha. I decided today im gonna get rid of my 80 cab and there's a guy in Central FL that has an 83 cab in WAY better shape im picking up for really cheap. got my 3rz on my engine stand getting ready for tax returns, gonna get that baby rebuilt and bored out and get ready to get all that stuff squared away. Still need to fix my crossmember situation with my trans....found a horse collar style plate from Low Range Offroad I may pick up along with a tube bender and notcher and my a tube crossmember to solve that issue. Then i need either a top shift tcase or a conversion kit for my tcase to work with the W59 I have and also need to buy the adapter to be able to run my tcase with the W59 trans....lol. Then all the other work....brake lines, fuel lines, wiring, suspension, dash, glass, rear end rebuild............I have a ways to go...haha

just a few photos of what the truck looked like the other day before today...and the big reasons why I decided to not deal with the cab anymore...

    quick update

so the last couple months...almost NOTHING has happened lol, mostly because I was paying my Tacoma off. Now that's done and Tax returns are coming up, ill be finally able to start working on the 80 again. picking up an LCE Master Rebuild kit and getting the 3rz bored .030 over and getting all the machine work done at the same time; then get the biatch painted and dropped back in. Probably gonna get the stupid tcase adpater at the same time because id sure love to solve the drivetrain fiasco haha. gonna end up with the W59 5 speed adapted to the RF1A Tcase along with Low Range Offroad's horse collar style transmission mount and bend up some tubing to make my trans mount that way

yup lol, lookin forward to grabbing this cab and getting to work on it lol

got a few things done over the weekend, finally decided to say F it to the 80 cab and cut the roof off and took it off to the scrap yard and today I finally got around to stripping down my rear axle and ground it down and got it painted. got the drum brakes and axle shafts off and out, pulled the 3rd member then got the axle ground down and painted. night and day difference.

Next week I'll be picking up my 1983 cab as my replacement and getting that all fixed up and ready to drop on. I'm not gonna be able to do much for awhile as I decided im getting my current debt paid off first before proceeding with my rebuild of my 80. So...im only gonna be able to do a few things here and there as I dont have much money lol

slowly.........another update lol, I should be able within this next month to start getting stuff together again. found out more info on my drivetrain where Im gonna have to compromise for a bit and just do a W56 trans with this 3rz since i need to get TWO 23 spline input shafts for both my tcases which adds another $400 on top of the $2,000 price tag for my drivetrain lol....time to find a W56 lol

Well I keep thinking about it but I am most likely gonna have to put this poor girl on the back burner until the end-ish of this year while I get my finances straightened out...that way....all of 2018 can be dedicated to throwing money at this thing before I get out of the military lol. I hate it....I really do...I really want this thing driving again and I want to drive it again....but I really do need my debt paid off...so....I'll try to see if there are small things here and there I can do...but most likely wont have any updates until later this year sadly...

These projects always take time. Even once its functional, there's a part that breaks and sets you back a couple bucks to get it fix again. I'll be subbed for updates

very true, I bought this truck at the end of 2015 thinking she'd be running within a year. guess it was a very generous goal to achieve lol. so...ill do like monthly updates to see where everything is at and keep everything up to date. she will be running in 2018 lol

just a quick check in, ended up buying some parts for my computer this last week, figured it was more of an achievable goal than the money I need for the pickup. BUT now that money has been spent, anything I get now will be towards debt and the trucks!

little update here, havent had one in a hot minute. ive decided im gonna spend a little money on the 80.....im getting really bored seeing her sitting the way she is. I ended up buying a 97 Tercel from a buddy as a daily driver since my work drive got way longer and had to rebuild the engine and replace a hub/bearing. im try to spend as little as possible but make a step in the right direction, BUT my plan is just to get Aleu sitting on all 4 wheels again. So, I just need longer U-bolts up front for the RUF setup and I need the Chevy 63 conversion kit for the rear and a rear disc brake conversion. Which with the kit that allows the use of early style toyota calipers and rotors; pretty much just need the bracket which is cheap and then exactly what I have up front. Not gonna worry about shocks or hoops at the moment, just trying to do SOME work to the truck without spending so damn much haha. SOOOO, more to come here soon HOPEFULLY....haha
