gas filler neck spring flap

    2013 black tacoma 6cyl 4wd
    last weekend my all my gas was syphoned, took gas cap and somehow removed
    spring loaded flap. have no way of knowing if it's at bottom of tank. replaced
    gas cap and fuel, no problems so far. questions, purpose of little flap and if in
    tank potential problems ? 2013 tacoma.....thanks everyone....

    Edit: I just checked mine, and it's not there either. So as others have said, apparently if it did fall in the tank, there shouldn't be an issue. I have an '05, and it's probably been at the bottom of the tank for years for all I know. Knowing it's in there, and not caring, will be part of my OCD therapy.

    Who the hell, in the age of low gas prices is siphoning gas?

    Don't think there is a flap to begin with. I know mine doesn't have one.

    Just get a locking gas cap. Auto parts store has them for like $10. Peace of mind

    My 08' had one. It's gone now and has been for a few years. I didn't sweat it then and have had zero issues. So, I'm still not sweating it.
