So I go to check the tire pressure after 2 weeks on my TRD pros & BFGs. I noticed a residue of white corrosion on the frame in the driver's inner fender. I pop the hood and the battery has been leaking acid all over- from the battery tray down to the frame and all over the harnesses. The paint is already gone and rust has started to set in. My local dealership was great today- they set me up with a Tundra rental for free. They need to call Toyota corporate on Monday.

Has anyone heard of anything similar? The dealership is unaware of anything similar and they were really shocked. The truck is stock besides the wheels and tires and turned 1,700 miles on the way there. Who knows how log it's been leaking; I bought the truck in April.

Was it from a crack or from boiling over? Either way, it sucks. But, it is on toyota I make it right.

They think it was leaking from the seam at the top of the battery. If it was overloaded, it would have expanded which doesn't seem to have happened.

Maybe they'll swap it for a '17 TRD Pro? :)

Mine has an unusual amount of corrosion developing on the battery and around the terminals when compared to my other vehicles here in the same operating environment but I have not inspected it further. This is the first complaint I've personally seen on the topic here for the 3rd gens. Now that you mention it, I may have to take a closer look.
