2016 Tacoma Lights quit flashing with remote when locking doors after HID headlight and fog light install with relay harness for both. Anyone else have this problem or a fix ? Anyone using HIDs without the relay harness?

I have the setting turned on but no lights flash when using remote to lock/unlock doors, I just installed 35w Hids in low beam and 25w in the fogs, used relay harness for both. I did notice the lights flashing a day or two after ,, then it just stopped? Any ideas?

All my doors are closed,,,, I'll try to switch back to my halogen bulbs when I get a day off of work see if that had anything to do with it.
Yours stopped after Hids? Or just stopped? If Hids did u use a relay harness? This is my first time using a relay harness with Hids, I would use factory wiring on my other vehicles with no problems...

Are you shutting off the truck before you open any doors? Opening doors before shutting off the motor messes with the door ajar alerts.

Sometimes shut truck off before opening the door, and when I have passengers they usually open a door before I shut truck off. Neither times do the lights flash anymore.

I think your best bet is to use the search function and see if someone else had a similar problem. These threads always go the same way.

"I installed XXXX, oh yeah, I only modified XXXX of the electrical system and now random XXXX electrical component doesnt work!"

I don't think many people on here know the ins and outs of the wiring harness or electrical system on the 2016.

LED int lights, Morimoto HID lows, Philips LED fogs
Stock halogen bulbs = wires direct to the bulbs.
HID = relay, igniter, and electric arc bulb (not filament).

I suspect the quick pulse to the headlights from the alarm is not long enough to make it through the HID system and turn the lights on.

Personally, I would turn it off as I would imagine short pulses to the HID system could potentially reduce it's lifespan.

Edit: brich999 is correct; it's the turn signals that flash, not the headlights. I guess that's what I get for surfing Tacomaworld before finishing my first cup of coffee...

what 16 tacoma do you have? in my trd sport the lights that flash when locking and unlocking are turn signal bulbs. i dont know how or why your turn signals would be effected by replacing headlights and fogs

I have the TRD off-road , and yes only the signals flashed,BUT they quit flashing a day or two after I installed the HIDs.( I never said anything about the headlights flashing. )
The hids work great. Only problem is the signals don't flash when I lock and unlock the doors like they did before..... The truck still beaps when locking/unlocking,only the signal lights don't flash anymore...

i just dont see where replacing the headlight bulbs would effect the turn signal flasher functions. thats an odd one, im assuming your turn signals and hazards operate normally?
