They produce about 35-40psi they're meant for use in RVs and the one I have I got used at a local RV repair place for only $15.

Yea I will do a quick disconnect just like the guy above trying to sell the kits. If you have basic wiring skills and common sense even buying everything brand new you could have this done for under $100.

My plan is to also have the switch for the pump right next to the quick disconnect for ease of use.

Yea that's something I haven't nailed down yet either. I have been looking at smaller camper plastic water tanks. But I haven't made it to the measuring stage of this idea as it's just a bookmark for now.

Good luck finding the right size container with inlets and outlets where you need them...I've spent hours searching online and the only ones that come close are all too tall and would hang down too low under the truck. Front Runner has one that is close. Also, do a lot of research and read reviews first on those types of pumps because they are infamous for self destructing if they run dry...won't re prime etc. Some of the reviews are just hilarious...look at the HF ones

One idea that I've thought about was instead of using a dedicated container mounted to the under side of the truck you can mod some of those 3 gallon water contains with a 2nd quick disconnect and set it on the ground next to the truck with a short hose running to the IN port on the pump.

I'm thinking around $200 at most for the kit +/- $30ish. Itll likely start cheaper to start off. Theres not really any profit im not looking to get rich lol just wanna be able to share this with others because for the few months I've used it has been AMAZING!

Sure can! I'll design the pickup line to be universal to any source

Not really. The pump will be installed in the truck and water lines ran. You will just plug into the quick disconnect when you need to use it. But i am considering making a portable unit like you mentioned as well

It would work great for this. A shower would likely use 2-4 gallons depending how conservative you can be so a water source would need to be carefully considered

There are already a ton of portable units on the market. Since the drought restrictions hit and they turned off the water at state parks a folks went into business making them IE: Waterport and Rinsekit

That's what i do. I plug intro a quick disconnect that i retrofitted onto my Rotpax. But im considering using the area under the bed where the spare used to be to make a 20 or 30 gallon tank for long distance or long term trips

Correct. But those require an air compressor or hand pump to pressurize and limit your water supply. Some self pressurize when you fill them but require to be repressurized after short use. This is a pump that supplies an unlimited amount of on demand pressure from any water source including jerry cans, rotopax, buckets, large tanks, or even streams and lakes (with an optional filter)

Unless you plan on putting in a custom water tank or something in the bed of the truck that's all a small container will give either way. Only advantage of using a mounted pump is the length of time you can pump water.

Yup I understand those were just two examples the Rinsekit is just that a rinse off, the Waterport is 10 gallons, that's a lot of water. There are tons of these products already out there IE: 12 volt camp showers, hell I bought one for $30 on Amazon that has worked flawlessly all summer and it gets daily use at the beach. 12v water pump 2.5" dia that you drop in any water source with a shower head etc. You have to read the reviews because some of those are not good if they ever run dry. Not trying to be negative about your idea just saying there are a ton out there already just google 12v camping shower.
