This is our rig.trailer loaded is 4500 lbs.truck is loaded to the max. This is a great rig to tow with and easily within the Tacoma's ability.truck is a manual.I don't expect the 2016 with the 3.5 to be as good but I think it would still handle this set-up no problem.Last trip was 5000 kms over two weeks.5000' elevation change on a couple of legs.

I like the Wolfpup 16bhs and the Summerland Mini I see on here. I'm eyeballing either one of these for a hopefully soon purchase. Pulling it w/ my 4.0, how do you guys like the them?

not really, it can be done but isn't as critical. having quality gear oil in trans is most important.

staying out of overdrive in hilly terrain would be a good idea as well to save stress on input and counter shaft as well as clutch.

Nice! Thanks for the info. I just got back from a trip in Patricks Point and took a 2500+ load over highway 299. I was super impressed with the power but I think having a manual was a real advantage. I could stick it in 3rd and hit 4500 RPM's during the major uphills when going straight.

I spent quite a bit of time researching...I was going to go the way of a new R-Pod, Winnebago Drop or Jayco Hummingbird. Then I found a 21' used Sunnybrook Harmony. Sunnybrook was bought by Winnebago, and the quality seems to be very good compared to the other trailers I looked at in my area. Winnebago is still making pretty much the same trailer, 5 years later. Real wood cabinets vs pressboard, porcelain toilet vs plastic, thicker gel-coat fiberglass sides, etc. I'm very happy so far.

Adventure Box all the way :) I biased I built it. It's really just what I need. Hardcore offroad and bad weather worthy. Haven't broken it yet.

I love all those windows for natural light, visibility and ventilation. It has eleven windows, five on one side, four on the other and two on the ends fore and aft.

Casita Freedom Deluxe 1ft travel trailer. I think dry weight is around 2500 lbs. Just got my 2013 to replace my 2002 and have not towed with my new DCLB. Hoping it pulls a bit better.
