I was initially leaning toward mobtown skids, they put effort into their site with good pics so you can see what they've made, but I keep going back to pelfreybilt... mobtown's specs are 20#s lighter, and $24 less total price... but it also appears that pelfrey's ifs is wider, that it offers a little more protection to those a-arm bolts... but it's impossible to tell because the single pic on pelfrey's site is, well, lacking, there are better pics in some threads here... in mobtown's pics I see they have standoffs welded on the ifs... that's good, I like that, does the pelfrey skid have that type of support, like the gussets they put on the transfer case skid?... speaking of the tc skid, that bump for the stock exhaust sure looks like it'll catch on stuff, 90 deg angles and all, the mobtown skid looks smooth all the way back but still covers the exhaust... is that because overall, it takes away a lot of ground clearance, that's important for a truck that's likely to stay stock for a while and will carry some real weight on it with the bed rack and rtt..... and of course money is tight.... can I justify buying all the way back to the transfer case... should I really burn my wallet with the weight savings of an aluminum mid skid?... lastly, there's the thread bumping, over and over, that's a bit of a turnoff for me... idk what I'm going to do. Guess I'll sleep on it some more.
