^^^nice, roomy yaks. The guide I used had the Hobie Mirages, they are nice. For lakes or something say deeper than 2 foot the pedal drives are the way to go for hands free fishing. I know their pricey. We would throw the lure out, peddle, and reel a trout in.

Decided to switch fishing spots and instead of taking 4 trucks we pilled 4 12ft kayaks and gear into my DCSB. Lmao.

I went fishing on Lake Wylie today. Only got one largemouth but it was still a great day! Caught on a rapala jointed shad.

One of many mahi caught off my native slayer this weekend. We catch everything off of yaks offshore. We can catch more than what boats do.

My first time out today in my new kayak. Went with @dan0mite and had a great time. First 15 minutes in the pond, landed the first bass. The Feel Free Lure 11.5 handled great and extremely sturdy. Standing up and moving around was very easy. Here are a couple pictures of our little adventure.

Took the yak down the river yesterday. I ended up with 3 smallies, IMG_0986.jpg IMG_0990.jpg IMG_0988.jpg IMG_0987.jpg one spot or largemouth?, and 1 brown. One thing I will make is a short 2-3foot tether with some kind of clamp on one end to use to clamp to a limb to hold the yak steady while casting.

Ive got a future beach 10 footer that i turned into a decent lake fishing kayak. Added 2 rod holders in the back, threw on my old fosh finder, and a small anchor system i built. I just wanted something cheap to have fun on when i dodnt feel like dragging my 12 foot boat around or tonthose good spots where theres no ramp. I enjoy it alot l. Easy to paddle, tracks straight.

I just bought one this past week. I ended up going with the Field and Stream Talon 12. It is a sit on, as I am in am on a river most of the time and they like to open the DAM all the time and I wanted quick exit if need be.

I love it. We went out last weekend and fished all day sat on the river then went to a isolated island in the middle of the river and camped for the night.

For the most part it is very stable, not as stable as some of the more expensive boats, but it does the job. I couldn't pass it up. I think they retail for 600 and I got it on sale at Dicks for 400.

For those that have kayaks- this things is about 68 lbs and with all my gear it is a heavy beast. What are people using to get their boats to the water. I am not always going to have another guy help me Cary it.

You can get a folding trolley for $50 or so that you bungee the kayak to. I use mine a lot at a specific lake where the campsite is about 500 yds from the lake. Too close to drive, so I walk it over on the trolley.

After 10 years of paddling and fishing in a Malibu X-Factor, I finally broke down and bought a new boat. I liked the X-Factor but it was getting to hard to stand up and fish. In order to do so, I found myself having to "plan" when I wanted to stand and fish. The new boat is a Wilderness Systems Radar 135 and it has the lawn chair style seat. Even in the low position, I am able to jump right up and start casting. It is just as stable as the X-Factor. I came close to falling out one time so far and it was when I was standing up, turned around and trying to reach something from the stern, behind the cooler. I would say that is pretty stable. I just picked it up a couple of month ago and have logged 22 miles of river time. The pics below are on the Medina River in Bandera, TX.
