As mentioned only 8 years. I've deployed and got as much as I've wanted out of the Navy. I think I'll have a higher earning potential with less stress and more freedom when out.

There's also no way I'd want to be around for these brand new recruits coming in at E7. There's no way I could respect those guys and see it as a huge "screw you" to the people already in fighting for rank and paying their dues.

It seems to me that as times goes on the military is taking the corporation approach, which is fine, but if that's the case I'd rather get paid like it.

Yeah. Go figger. And I was kidding about the bourbon. That would just be plain stupid. But I understand, Texoma, about getting out. I swore I wouldn't retire until that asshat Obama was gone 'cause I didn't want his name anywhere near my paperwork. But when he was re-elected I had to rethink my plan. The entire military has been turned into some diabolical social experiment. Sad.

I'm a METOC officer and I know a bunch of guys going through NUPOC now. I could put you in touch with them and you can get their perspective on the officer route.

Hey, i've been in A-school for almost a month now! I got my OC spray today, it was pretty shitty, but its done now. I went down to Fort Sam Houston where you HM guys are for A-school, it was pretty nice. I just got my phase 2 liberty so i'll travel a little farther in San Antonio, any advice on cool places to go if you remember?

No, MA school is at Lackland. So far the school is good, there are a lot of fleet returnees so you would have the first spot if you chose to cross rate here.

Cheaper to rent a car than to uber. $30 a day and if everyone pitches in, your practically free.

Not sure if that was there First West pack on Connie. They where in CAG 14 at the time. I was in AIMD IM2 Ships company. Had a few of your riggers attached to us for the cruse. I always thought it was a squared away squadron.

    also had 196 with us

never got up to Whidbey Island heard it is a nice NAS.

Funny how I can remember all this but forget at least two thing every time I go to Home Depot. haha

I've been hearing some strange talk about the A-10 fleet. Since so many USMC F/A 18's are grounded, it's being discussed to move the A-10's to the Marines. Of course the nose gear will have to be adjusted, and the tail also strengthened plus the hook. Marines are close support and an upgraded A-10 would really fit the bill. Not sure about the wings however.
