After determining that I would probably never have to remove my tailgate, I decided to improve the hose clamp anti-theft mod.

Took my Dremel, used the carbide cutter tip, and smoothed down the nut edges so a nut driver or socket would be useless.

Then I cut out half of the head so a screwdriver would also be useless.

Looking through the lengthy warning section in the Dremel manual, a paragraph near the bottom caught my eye:
"This tool is not intended to be used as a dental drilling device..." :D

Man, I need to learn how to weld, even if it's super basic.

I kinda figured as much. Once I move into my place with a garage next year, I'll probably pick up a basic little welder and dick around with it.

I'm using the cheapy $99 flux-core one from Harbor Freight. Plugs into a regular outlet so I just did that on top of a couple of cinder blocks out in the front yard.

No matter how bad your welds may look at first, an angle grinder goes a long way towards cleaning them up.

I took metal working in high school and now that I have a house and the tools, it's a skill I've actually used quite a bit. I'm in the process of building a small furnace for melting/casting, and a forge might come next.

That sounds about on my level of what I'd want to do. Just something for fabbing up random brackets when welding is the best way.

The first thing I ever used mine for was welding a nut into the transmission pan of my wife's Cavalier for a drain plug. It probably paid for itself on that first use, over having someone do it for me.

its my drift car. i had an ls 240sx 7 years ago so i decided to build one again and get on the track. I had so many problems at the dyno but good now, oil cooler exploded, had to pull fuel pump, rubbing etc.
its 5.7 ls with a torquer v2 cam with supporting valvetrain (241 heads though), 25 underdrive, ls6 intake, headers, ypipe exhaust, 36lb injectors, holley EFI and bunch other smaller things. i keep meaning to have an actual build thread on zilvia or ls1tech but i keep putting it off.

car runs with 13 qts of oil... 3 qt accusump plus all the plumbing and large pan.

There is quite a gap between the headliner and the roof. I had mine off a few weeks ago laying in some sound dampening and insulation ... spraying adhesive may not work.
