I am a 73 year young senior and on our 2nd Tacoma. The first we sold with 275K miles on it and it is still going. The second is a 2004, extended cab we bought in 2005 with 2500 miles on it. It now is approaching 130K.
The reason I registered on this forum was to find out how the heck to get the Emergency Brake light to go out. I tried everything, but good old You Tube provided the answer. Add Brake Fluid . Bingo it went out. What the heck was Toyota thinking. The hydraulic brake system has nothing to do with the all mechanical Emergency Brake.

Another thing I learned is to change out the water pump, ,belts and hoses at 100k They even sell a kit with everything in it. If the water pump dies and locks up, or the timing belt brakes, nasty things happen to the inside of your engine.

Also it is lot easier to replace the front struts that come as an assembly with the coil spring already installed as assembly than just replacing the struts.
Things sure have changed since I was a youngster.

Welcome to TW. The 2004 5fz-fe is a non interference engine so no damage occurs when the timing belt fails. Still a good idea to replace it though ;). Loved my 2004. Good luck.
