Hi group. This week I purchased a 2001 manual trans, v6, xtracab, TRD. Couldn't be happier thus far, and looking to hop into some maintenance. Approaching 160k and looking to take care of timing belt and also leaking VC gaskets, as well as all the "while your in there" parts that are associated with these jobs.

Where does everyone buy OE Toyota parts? Are there suggested online dealers or supporting vendors that give discounts on genuine parts? I tried calling my local dealership, but they appeared to be firm at charging list price. :frusty:.

Also, is there an online website that you can see parts breakdown diagrams with part numbers for Toyotas? So far I came across some online dealer websites, but their parts catalog do not seem entirely comprehensive.

Been on this site all week soaking up knowledge on these trucks. Appreciate all the help so far. Also a shout out to sente3 for car buying tips and autocheck report.

Welcome and great looking truck. Since I suck at looking for parts and just purchase wherever I'm no use to help you there. I have seen Ebay sell complete kits with OEM parts but don't know how they compare in price to what Jer listed. Good luck in the maintenance and remember to post up more pics!

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I've found a lot on eBay for good prices. But the only OEM parts I religiously buy are timing belt, water pump, and suspension parts. Stealerships are a total ripoff though, about the only business they'd get from me is if I was looking to buy an oil filter or air filter.

Agree with @2004TacomaSR5 that the you really don't need to worry to much about OE parts, at least not for most things -- Check on rockauto.com for the part numbers, then scour the internet for the best deal. I usually end up using Amazon tbh.

This. I've placed 2 orders recently with CB via their site and Brian (their rep here) been awesome tracking down any info I needed prior to placing the order. Parts arrived quickly and without issue. I'll continue to use them - great prices, customer service and fast shipping - cant beat it.

Thanks for the warm welcome and info on CB. Just placed my first order.

A lot of times i try to avoid off brand parts for gaskets, seals, etc. No guarantee even with dealer parts that they are the same original quality, but I feel a bit more confident they will last vs rolling the dice with aftermarket.

RockAuto for me. A lot of the people here swear by eBay, but after several bad transactions on that site, I no longer use them for mission critical parts. RockAuto has never failed me, has great prices, and their parts are OE (Aisin, Denso, Gates, etc.) so quality is there. In fact, Aisin manufactures a lot of Toyota (OEM branded) parts (water pumps, trannies, belts, etc.) and Denso manufactures other equipment used in our rides (O2 sensors, spark plugs, alternators). Actually they have a discount code (4997727028611329) that you can enter that gives you an extra 5% off. Love that place - just ordered my 2xO2 sensors from them and my timing belt kit for my Celica.
