Hey guys. So my Taco came with 2 PIAA's and PIAA harness and switch. I got some new switches that would look a ton better and cut the old switch off to install the new one.....without disconnecting it from the battery.

Truck threw 10 different codes, ranging from low pos batt voltage to MAF and AID.

Now it starts, dies, then starts rough the second time, no power, CEL.

Did I fry the ECM? Or just the sensors?

Which switch did you cut? I would disconnect the battery for a bit (like 15 min) and see if it resets.

The PIAA on/off switch, which contacted all three wires at the same time in doing so

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
No fuse between anything and the battery?

I will report back on my lunch break.
There was a fuse between but it didn't blow?

Then it had to be tapped wires with an inline fuse? Probably just shorted something and pissed it off. Could disconnect battery for a few hours to clear codes.

But it is running like shit so something must be fried? Sensor of some sort I'd think. The PIAA harness was tapped into the fuse box some how with a splicer

Nothing came about from unhooking the battery.

Still starts then dies then stays running the second time
    Still has no power
    Still has CEL

Will check the fuses when I'm off work.

    Too few to list.
I'd check all the fuses in the cab and in the engine compartment first.

EFI fuse under the hood was blown. Power is back.
    Rechecking the codes now.

Cleared the codes and haven't had any pop back up yet!

Will update tomorrow after driving more

Yes Without disconnecting the battery. Stupid stupid. Just weird that the EFI fuse is what blew.

Always trace the wires to their source or cut and cap them individually. At least you learned your lesson and hopefully you didn't fry anything expensive.
