Hey, for all of you who have made the switch to leather, do any of you with a TRD Sport or Offroad still have your factory seat covers in good condition? I've got a 2009 Sport and I mainly just need the drivers side cloth. I'm not ready to make the switch to leather but I would like to get rid of the big hole in my cloth seat. I'm trying to do this on a budget so I can pay for shipping and possibly a little more. Thanks in advance and feel free to PM me.

 

Only the TRD trim cloth will work - the other ones are different.

Gearing up for the instillation.

 

Installed my Katzkin kit almost 6yr ago. Got a hole in my drivers seat. John Huey hooked me up with a replacement panel and I got that done today.

Doing the whole truck was a big job. But just getting one piece done today was kind of fun. Anyone who is interested in getting leather from someone who gives great customer service should holler at John at Affordable Leather. Top notch service.

 

I was planning on installing my own Katzkins until I read this DIY thread. I'll be honest, it looks like a massive PITA. I was dreading it, but still on board, until I got to the part about grinding the plastic things on the rear seat and then re-melting them to get them back on. Screw that. I don't even own one of those soldering guns, so it looks like I'll be coughing up a few hundred dollars to a professional for the install.

 

It's a shame you're not in Pennsylvania, I do it for you.

 

Very kind of you Homer, and I hope you didn't get the wrong impression from my comment; Your thread is incredibly helpful and informative. Thanks for taking the time to do it. I'm just thinking it's going to be beyond my skill level. I suppose I could always do the front seats and part of the backs, and then just see how much someone would charge me for the plastic bracket part...

 

You may want to reach out to @jhuey8947 and see what he has to say. I installed a CST kit and the Katzkinz one may have a different provision in place for that part.

 

I can certainly hope. I did email him this morning with questions about the Katzkins, since that's the brand I was already looking at. I'll check in with him about that issue as well.

 

They do, and it is already installed on the covers, the back seat covers for Katzkin is a breeze to do(well maybe a stiff wind)

Hey @HomerTaco, how's the painted speaker covers holding up? I'm planning on doing that soon. What kind of paint and steps did you take? Sand, vinyl paint, gloss? Looks great by the way.
