I’m having a transmission issue that doesn’t happen often and I hope it’s not serious . I have did a search and found a high mileage thread but not exactly what I have going on

So 1st four gears are fine but once in a while from 4th to 5th the rpm jumps and then “shifts” this does not happen every time nor does it happen when I put the hammer down and floor it through the gears also this rarely happened when I’m easy on it either ,it really only happens when I’m just above my normal driving I would have to guess about a 2600RPM shift point and when it happens it jumps to about 3000RPM then makes the shift and back down to 2000RPM

This only happens about 2 times a week and I just did a 1800 mile trip and it did it about 4 times during this trip , I have done the 3x3 fluid change and have 33inch tires with a 3 inch lift 175K

    Thanks for the input guys

You said you did the 3x3 fluid change. What is your fluid level at? Mine used to do that and I just flushed my system and it seems to be running better. I have 135K on it right now. Toyotas also like to run a little full on the sealed units. How have you been checking your fluid level? My favorite temp is 100 degrees. Fluid should be about pencil lead thick coming out. Double check this. If it is low, add some. I know there are other fluids that supposedly work in the WS system. I highly recommend using factory stuff though. Good luck
