Damm smit, I was worried, I thought you might have actually had a date being we hadn't heard from you for a couple of hours.
After 5100 posts one has to wonder.

It's the eco-boost which I have a feeling, (or really more history repeats itself) will be a cluster-fook repair expense of a nite-mare for ppl down the line, and the all new aluminum body that will cost a ton in insurance over time because it costs more to repair.
But it won't rust before the chassis does though.

    http://www.latimes.com/business/autos/la-fi-hy-ford-f150-repair-cost-20150729-story.html

Resale value only really matters to those who lease or keep vehicles short term and trade it.
If you'll own a ford for 10+ years it really doesn't matter does it? But that is provided you can keep it running without taking out a second mortgage to F.O.R.D. :D

Because big fish eats little fish.

    Hope that helps
    Cheers!

The build out options for F150 s are rediculous. Every which way minus the kitchen sink for passenger side... I'd consider them just for that reason.
1 major complaint would be the way they Tacoma spec lists are so restrictive, and limited choice for 40 k.

It's called trolling you nitwit. I also own a T4R. Last time I checked half the mods are camping out on this forum not owning a Tacoma much less a Toyota. Off you can fuck.

That's the only saving grace of the Tacoma. Since you'll probably end up having issues with it and want to sell it or trade it, you'll at least be able to get more of your money back with resale than an F150 after you've grown tired of getting nowhere with Toyota Customer Service or the dealerships a couple years down the line.

I like my 16 DCOR. It drives, rides and runs just fine for me and the mpg are a lot better than my friends that drive the big 3.

Forget Toyota Vs. Ford, time to start a thread on bird dogs and this fall's adventures. The Dakotas are calling...

Before I bought my Taco I searched online for F-150's. When I filtered the results for only manual transmissions, nothing came up. The F-150 could haul 50,000 lbs. while doing 0-60 in .8 seconds and get 100 mpg, and it still wouldn't be an option for me. I won't drive an automatic.

just google ecoboost 3.5/2.7 motor problems or cayote 5.0 number 7 cylinder problems, not to mention the bs fuel economy claims for 3.5...my cousin is a service manager for a major ford dealership.lets not even talk about the junk diesels motors that ford uses.

I won't be deciding between a 3rd Gen and any other truck as I've come to the conclusion that I'm just not liking the 3rd Gen. The more models, colors, etc. I see around here, there more I dislike it.

I plan on keeping my 2nd Gen for at least 5 more years. Until then, I'm not even in the market for a new truck.

If I had to replace my truck tomorrow, I think the top contender would be an F150 3.5 EB (maybe 5.0) 4x4 Lariat SuperCab 6.5' Box.

I'm interested in seeing the Jeep pickup whenever that finally comes out. If they offer a manual, I might consider it somewhere down the road. Happy with my Taco for now, though.

Been looking at GMC Sierra 2500hd. If I'm going to get 17 mpgs, I would like to have more power and payload ability. Regular cab long bed, 133 inch wheelbase, 6.0 Vortech V8, hold 7K lbs in bed, tow 13k lbs, gets around 17 mpg. Have had Toyota trucks in both flavors for like 15 years, it's all kool aid, just going to try a different kind.
