Yes it's definitely necessary with having the LCAs uniball as well

    ...too much shit to list.
DSM can get you whatever the hell you want...not just what's listed on the website.
I know it's a lost art, but try calling the vendor.

Haha, I gotcha. Yea the 2nd gen picked up a better ride when they came out. Not a bigger difference that the 1st gen but still a little difference. You will not be disappointed going with Kings. Granted I have a lot of extras when it comes the the control arms. Give DSM a call, speak with Micah; or call Rebell Offroad and talk with Peter in the online sales department. Both are great dudes and will help you out. I got mine from Rebells Offroad.

What were you running before going kings, or were you stock? What's your total lift now?

I have a 3rd gen and a toytec boss 2.0 on there, but I'm looking for 3" all around to give 33's better clearance, and having them at 3" is pushing them out of their comfort one.

Your setup is identical to what I'm going after. I like the extended travel 2.5 kings and TC arms. What's in the back? In ditching the shitty boss AAL and going for an all pro leaf pack since its 3" instead of the boss pack that gives 2". You running King 2.5 extended travel shocks out back as well?

I'm worried that 3 - 3.5" is reaching the limits of an MT setup and I'll start needing up consider some LT hardware. Thoughts?

With your 3rd gen you are only recommended to lift 2" max over your stock height since your already riding an inch higher than a 2nd gen, stock.

You mean for an MT setup? That's good to know, and somewhat irritating since I very specifically was concerned about this when buying the truck. So for 3" - 3.5", you'd say I need to start looking into an LT hardware swap?

The only reason it's recommended 2" is anything past that your ride quality gets compromised.

    Previous setup:
Icon 2.5 extended travel coilovers with 13x650 springs
    Icon tubular UCAs
    Stock spindle and LCA

    Present Setup:
King 2.5 extended travel coilovers with 14x650 springs
TC UCAs, racing series LCAs (without secondary shock mount), and spindle gussets

Total lift now over stock is 3.5" and the comfort level is amazing now. I only adjusted them 1.5" over what king sends them as and I spoke with a Kig tech before hand and they recommended not going much further than I did. I'm hoping it doesn't settle too much, it Shouldn't.

    Rear previous setup:
All-pro expo leaf pack, u-bolt flip kit
    Wheelers off-road super bumps
1st shocks - icon 2.0 shock with remote reservoir
2nd shocks - fox 2.0 performance shocks with CD adjustable remote reservoir (for sale, only 400 mile on them. Went with kings in the front so I wanted to buy king for the rear. Foxes were good shocks)

    Present setup:
    All-pro expos, flip kit
    Super bumps
    King 2.5 remote reservoir shocks

I'm not a fan of AALs. All-Pros are good, but they go 3" over stock and it's hard to match the rears if you want it level. I have some weight in the rear to help out with comfort with the springs. I'm going to upgrade them sometime soon. If you don't plan on having a lot back there go with their progressive springs, and paint it with rust-alium when you get them. Dakars are good, I had them for awhile, they squeak just keep them oiled up. Atlas suspension is whom I'm looking at going with next, custom built leafs.

Again past 3"-3.5" your talking about drop bracket kits not LT kits. LT kits give you a wider will base and travel, not height. Drop bracket kits give you added truck heigh but not clearance. I'm running a MT setup with a similar affect has a LT kit, minus the wider wheel base, this is all due to the uniball UCAs and LCAs.

It all depends on where you live too. I live in NC, where we have rocks, woods, and narrow paths. LT kits wouldn't work for me, even though I did consider it. I don't like drop bracket kits, just me. Plus my truck is a daily driver too, so I needed a setup for good low speed travel and highway, plus comfort for my wife.

If you get the Kings just go 8 full rotation past what they come out of the box and you will be fine. My whole rig has been trial and error, plus getting to know a lot of businesses and other guys with good rigs. You can follow my build page, I going to be updating it soon. I have a lot of stuff on there too. Going to start post informational stuff too.

I know this was long and I'm sorry everyone, but I hope I answered your question @Boba Fetty. If you have anymore feel free to ask.

I was considering the TRD Pro lift because I only want about a 1.75" lift to level the truck. Then... I started looking at coilovers because they around the same price as the TRD Pro lift (and I'm assuming they are better bang for your buck). The coilovers are all adjustable 0 to 3 inches. Does that mean I can use them from stock height to 3" over stock height (sorry stupid question I know). I'm just not sure if "Zero" corresponds to stock height.

If yes, and I ran them at 1.75" of lift do you think I would need UCA's?

Yes you can set them to between 0 (stock) and +3 on a second Gen.

Maybe, you should be okay, but each truck is a little different.

Also depends on travel (like if you get extended travel coil overs, then yes, you'll need uca's)

Thanks guys. I think I'm going to get Icon 2.5s (regular travel). I can't imagine the TRD Pro lift being much better plus if I decide to lift the rear in the future I can just crank the Icons up.

I've spent the last few days reading all 44 pages of this thread. I'm very close to setting my heart on Kings, but want to know a little more about ADS which hasn't been talked about as much as I'd like to have seen in this thread. I was told by one of the vendors that ADS is a digressive shock. If that's the case, I'll go with Kings. But from what I've read here everyone else says they're progressive. I'd like to believe that someone who sells the product knows a little more about it than the general public, but what are the chances that literally every other post I've seen is wrong? Anyone who can give some insight on ADS shocks and how they perform compared to Kings it would be greatly appreciated.

    Kyler,

    Check this thread out.

You can ask your questions in that thread. I just picked up some ADS but they're sitting in the garage.
