Hey guys I just put in an order for a 2017 double cab truck , skipped their JBl stereo because usually the first thing I do is do the aftermarket upgrade, ideally I would like to do 3-4 ways active , is that possible with these trucks these days? any tips/advise will be greatly appreciated .
In my current 2012 Tacoma I have a Pioneer DEH 80PRS run 3 ways active and would love something similar
    Thanks in advance

    Pioneer 80PRS....great head unit.

    My advice...

It really shouldn't be too much different than your current setup. The audio tech in the Tacomas hasn't advanced too much in the last 3-4 years. I, however, would advise that you maintain the factory HU, as there are more than just audio functions integrated into it. You will need a decent DSP to do this, such as the Audison Bit One.

I'm personally planning on running a basic passive setup...going to give the JL fix 86 a try.

Agreed, the factory radio just has too much functionality for other vehicle settings and displays. I also went with the JL Fix 86 in my truck. I should have it up and running in the next week...

Yes, it seems like the Bit One is the way to go, Does the Jl 13TW5 sub fit behind the back seat and still leave room for 2 amps and that processor?

Check my thread '16 JBL headunit replacment. it is possible to keep 90 percent of the OEM head unit functionality if installed with an idatalink maestro.

Thanks, the big thing for me was the XM compatibility. I have the lifetime membership and no longer eligible to change radios. Also, you lose the nav displays/instruction in the gauge cluster display.
