Loans have been getting longer and longer ever since 2008. Growing up it was unheard of to get longer than a 60mo loan for a car. Now you can find dealers promoting 72mo loans pretty frequently.

I heard from somebody else about Pendleton for manufacturing too. It's made by keystone.

Caught me by surprise for the 12 year term as well. I figured it would be shorter.

I got my truck brand new back in 2011 on an 84 month loan.

Interest is so low right now it's pretty easy to make more on the market with your money than whatever APR you are paying. Over the last 12 months my average returns have been 14% or so, and I am a conservative investor. Point is, if you have say $1000 a month for toys/truck payments budgeted but you can get those payments down to $500 by extending terms with lower interest and you invest the other half you are better off than shorter terms with higher interest spending the entire $1000 on payments.

Which there is nothing wrong with. Especially since a lot of those longer longs have 0% or 1% APR's. Might as well get lower monthly payments instead of higher ones :)

But car loans are funky. The average person only owns their car for like 5-6 years. So offering a 72 month loan is perfect. Just at the time they stop paying interest, its on average time for them to start looking for a new one and get back into paying you interest.

That's some deep dish right there. What's the specs on the wheels? 20x? What's the offset and backspace?

since we are talking motorcycle stories still, there's a good one about my Great-Grandpa that my Grandpa liked to tell. I guarantee it's one of Grandpa's tall tales, but it's one of his favorites to tell.

The story goes that Great-Grandpa was in town one day and got a wild hair to buy a motorcycle. Since he had never ridden one before, the dealer got it started and pointed out the controls. My great-grandfather, being a smart man, figured out how to get moving and promptly drove it home.
Meanwhile, back at the house, Great-Grandma is inside doing housework or something. Soon, she starts hearing a motor and a bunch of yelling from the back yard, and then the same noise from the front yard. This keeps repeating. She goes outside, and sees her husband on the motorcycle, yelling for her help. Apparently, Great-Grandpa had done a good job of learning how to ride the motorcycle off the lot and all the way home, but never thought about how to turn off the bike, so he's riding in circles around the house, yelling for his wife to call the dealer, call the cops, call anybody. Great-Grandma is chasing him to pull him off, throwing things at him to try knocking him off, and all sorts of things. Great-Grandma eventually went inside and waited until Great-Grandpa ran the bike out of gas.

As a kid, I heard that story quite a few times when visiting the grandparents. The only other thing I know about my Great-Grandpa is that he was tall, patriotic, and once decked a man for refusing to salute the flag during a parade.

im heading out to trillium lake next weekend and i was going to see whats out around la dee flats. i was reading through some of the rules for OHV stuff and it says you are required to have a fire extinguisher. the one time i went with all of you to brown's camp i did not have a fire extinguisher. did i just completely miss the point that time, or do i not really need one?
