They are progressive. The guts are extremely similar to Kings

Any particular reason you would choose ADS over King? Or vice versa? Aside from color preference.

I pick King because of the support base. Hell of a lot more tuning experts out there with King and King support is amazing. That said, there are a few nice things that come standard on ADS that are upgrades with other vendors, hence the higher sticker price:

    Triple seal on seal cap
Cadmium plated and ceramic clear coat finish
    7075 aluminum piston

Always had fox products after my icons broke. Recently, I sent them in for a rebuild and a spring swap. They estimated 7-10 business day. After calling quite a few times, they just started them yesterday, 14 business days later. Ugh.

Should have sent them to DSM. You'd be wheeling already.

So for someone who was more of a weekend warrior and not out racing and tuning their shocks frequently, ADS would be a better choice? I live in central Florida, I'm not driving 70+mph through the desert. I occasionally get the truck up over 30 mph on a beat up trail, but there aren't many places to do that around here. Everything else is primarily low speed.

If you want me to make the decision for you, I would pick King. But that's my bias.
Racing has nothing to do with it. Nobody is going to be doing 70 MPH in the desert with a bolt in OE shock replacement unless it's a dry lake bed. Tuning and having rebuildable shocks have their advantages, but they also cost more and rebuilds are going to cost you unless you do them yourself. The whole point of a quality shock is to get it tuned for your driving style and ride preferences and to be able to handle the heat generated from lots of shock movement without running into shock fade. If you don't want to take advantage of those, and won't need the oil capacity for heat, then why buy a high end shock?

I called them but they wanted $90 more than Fox. Trust me I regret the decision haha

I came close to getting FOX's but man their return time tends to take a while. I know for mountain biking I wont touch their stuff because of this amongst other things. Went with Kings because their CS kicks ass. Also King has always called me back same day!

Yeah, if I go LT I think I'll be giving Kings a try, twice the quoted time is rediculous, not gonna have my truck ready before school starts.

I figured 5 weeks would be plenty of time for shipping and a simple rebuild and spring swap. Nope.

One thing I have heard about Fox though is that they have been trying to get out customer issues faster these days. I guess they have some sort of agreement atleast with the Ford Raptor folks that if they are late, then Ford can fine them for failure to address customers or something. Hopefully that is transcribing into all their customers. If I ever go the LT route, I think I will stay with King. So far they have been a solid product for me. Also it seems many folks on here are happy with King as well.

I've ran a full set of Foxs twice and never had any issues, but never had to deal with customer service before. They're helpful in answering my questions and always pick up the phone, but they said 7-10 business days and were on business day 15 right now and still haven't been contacted saying they're completed. I called yesterday and they said they were starting my rebuild. Doubt it takes two days to do but obviously I wouldn't know for sure since I'm having them do it for me.

forgive my ignorance. how possible is it if you rebuild them yourself. i'm still learning these high end coilover before i pull the trigger. i'm from east coast and it does not sound good if i send them in for rebuild.

Doesn't hurt to have a vice and maybe someone who has done one before. I know there is a good King breakdown/rebuild on youtube.

I've been told there not to bad at all. But if you send them in they will refinish some messed up piece vs what you get in a rebuild kit. There are kits out the and everything to help in the rebuild process. If you ever want to check out king, I have a set on all 4 corners. Follow the Raleigh area thread, we have mod days or meet up every now and again, I normal show up if the wife doesn't have anything for me. I've had icons, then a set of rear fox, and now kings.

Im curious as to your reasons how you eventually went with King as you have had them all with the exception of some SAWs. Granted I had some SAWs before and they can get rusty rather fast, def didn't repeat that route.
